Sit-in staged in solidarity with roaming vendors in Sana'a

Roaming vendors and owners of stalls staged on Sept. 09 a sit-in in front of Sana'a City's compound. A number of civil society organizations and members of Parliament, advocates and journalists took part in the sit-in.

Roaming vendors and owners of stalls protested against the pursuits carried out against them by local councils' authorities.
Security forces attacked roaming vendors and owners of stalls at Hail Street and shot lively bullets at them, leaving four of them wounded, one of them was seriously injured.
Roaming vendors and owners of stalls expressed refusal to the acts carried out against them.
It was reclaiming that a committee comprised of activists, advocated and journalists was formed for supporting roaming vendors and owners of stalls.
This sit-in came as a result of a meeting organized by Hood Organizations for Rights and Freedoms last Tuesday.
The committee met with Sana'a City's officials and a team which included several rights groups and some officials was created to tackle the issue of vendors and owners of stalls.
