Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC)concluded today its first training course on citizenship and freedoms of association. About 20 participants took part in the course held in Sana'a City.
The course which lasted from 4-6 August 2009 covered three aspects; The director of Alaw Foundation for Law Khaled al-Mawri trained the participants on citizenships, legal and constitutional texts and howlaws are violated and protected.
On the second day, chairman of the Prisoner Organization Abdul-Rahman Barman discussed freedoms of association, Yemeni, Arab and International experiences.
On the third day, the trainer Nashwan al-Sumiri reviewed human rights. He also spoke about advocacy and mobilization as important ways which should be activated.
WJWC had agreed with the Yemeni Teacher Syndicate to train leaders of the syndicated intensively.
The Yemeni Teacher Syndicate praised this agreement, stressing the importance of taking care for all civil society sectors, particularly teachers and pointing out that teachers lack to awareness and improve their abilities to defend rights and freedoms.
It also called all organizations to carry out programs, aiming to develop the work of unions of such segments which have important influence on the community.
