Houthis and ousted president deprive abductees of winter clothes

Militiamen of Houthi group and ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh have prevented families of abductees from delivering winter clothes to their kidnapped relatives in prisons in Yemen’s militia-controlled capital Sana’a, according to Mothers of Abductees.

The association has denounced the prevention, saying, “it falls within the ongoing violations committed by Houthis against abductees in their prisons.

"It’ is a clear indication of to what extent the militia suffers from lack of humanity and indifference to health and lives of the abductees, which exposes them to respiratory infections, arthritis and chronic diseases’, the association explained in a statement.

According to the statement, Mothers of Abductees stressed that the Houthi group and ousted president bear full responsibility for any health repercussions on their members’ relatives due to depriving them of exposure to the sun and prevention means, which puts their lives at risk.

It is worth mentioning that severe frost has hit many Yemeni places including the capital Sanaa where the minimum temperature has reached degrees below zero Celsius.
