Almasdaronline’s former editor, Youssef Ajlan, who has been abducted by the Houthi militia and forces loyal to ousted president Ali Saleh for six months, has received the news about his second newborn baby.
Ajlan had given his long-awaited second child Ibrahim Youssef before he was kidnapped on 13 October 2016.
“My baby’s name has a musical rhythm”, he joked only few days before the birth of his son.
The militias of Houthis and ousted president has sent Ajlan to the political security prison in the rebel-held capital Sana'a without any charges, and have not even interrogated him since his abduction in mid-October of last year.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) had said in its annual report of 2016 that Ajlan Youssef had decided to stop working as a journalist because it was too dangerous.
“He, nonetheless, was kidnapped from in front of his home by Houthis on 13 October and has been detained in prison under their control, without being able to contact family or colleagues”, continued the report.
According to RSF’s report, Houthis are currently holding at least 15 journalists, and many media workers found themselves forced to stop working or leave the country.
