Two children were shot dead by a Houthi militant at a militia-controlled checkpoint in Hubaish district to the north of Ibb city, while another child was tortured to death by her relative in Jiblah district to the south of the city, said a local source.
The source said that a Houthi leader called Abdul Raqib al-Odaini shot dead two children and a man at an armed checkpoint on the road connecting the center of Hubaish district, Dhulmah, and the area of al-Gubgub.
No further details, however, have been released about the reasons behind the shooting.
In another context, a security source reported that a girl named Hiyam Meqdad Qaid was tortured to death by her father's wife in Jibla district.
Based on the security source, the five-year child was severely beaten and tortured by her father's wife, while her father is outside the country.
She was rushed to hospital, but she died almost immediately upon arriving in the nearby medical facility, and doctors were unable to save her life as a result of the excessive violence she received.
Her body has been kept in mortuary in the maternity and childhood hospital, while the woman accused of the crime has not been arrested so far.
