Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) has called on the Houthi militia to immediately release Yemeni journalists who have been facing the death penalty since April 2020 in the militia-held capital of Sana’a.
Nearly 5 years after their abduction, 4 journalists, namely Abdul-Khaleq Emran, Akram al-Walidy, Harith Hamid, and Tawfiq al-Mansoori, was sentenced to death by a court under the Houthi control.
In a statement on the 20th anniversary of the World Day Against the Death Penalty, the WJWC reiterated its call on relevant international actors to provide protection for journalists and other media professionals and guarantee their safety
