Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) in collaboration with Friedrich Ebert Foundation issueda documentary book entitled "Journalism in Yemen: margin and violations".
The book included the most important content of Yemen's journalism, both public an opposition newspapers, regarding the margin of Yemen's journalism. The book includes articles, investigations, articles, interviews, reports, images and cartoons which focused on the Yemeni press.
The bookpaid attention to the three last years because it was the most important period of Yemen's journalism. In this period, Yemen's journalism witnessed an active momentumas it preceded political parties in defending rights and freedoms.It is also the period in which Yemen's journalism called for freedom expression to the largest extent.
The first part of the book included two chapters.The first tackled Yemen journalism reality; the Yemeni journalism on three sections, analytic vision, the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate, the Press law. The second chapter deals with violations committed against journalism from different corners.
The book's second part included two chapters; the third and fourth.
The third chapter was on the Yemeni journalism " official vision" in two sections; the journalism in addresses of President Ali Abdullah Saleh and press freedoms in the official newspapers.
The fourth chapter contains a collection of the journalism laws, the law proposal, visions of parties and organization regarding the law proposal.
The book also included a compilation of the most local and international reports on press freedoms in Yemen. And lastly the book contains examples of prosecuting some journalists. Moreover, images and cartoons were distributed in different sections of the book.
