Yemeni journalists abducted in prisons of Houthis and ousted president Saleh have made a distress call to save the detained fellow journalist Abdul Khaliq Imran who is suffering from spinal pain.
Imran, who has been kidnapped along with 10 other journalists for about 530 days by militias of Houthis and ousted Saleh, has been in a bad health condition after he had been brutally tortured in detention, while militias insist not to transfer him to hospital for treatment.
The abducted journalists have described their colleague’s condition as “critical”, urging the concerned authorities, organizations, unions, journalists and activists to take action to rescue Imran’s life who is severely suffering from spinal pain caused by brutal torture by militias.
Abdel Kareem Imran, the abductee’s brother, had said his brother is suffering from back pains caused by Houthi torture and due to poor prison conditions, noting that the political security prison administration rejected a request to transfer his militia-held brother to hospital for treatment. He held the Houthi militia fully responsible for his safety and life.
