Yemeni Journalists Syndicate has condemned the “occupation” of its headquarters in the port city of Aden by militants belonging to Aden’s deputy governor Ali Haitham and director of Tawahi Directorate, Abdel Hameed Naser.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, YJS expressed strong dissatisfaction with this action by some officials of Aden’s local authority, demanding the interior minister, the governor of Aden and the security chief to stop such misconducts.
The voice of Yemeni journalists called also for the immediate evacuation of the militants from its HQ, protection and non-recurrence.
It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time to take over YJS facility in Aden. It was already occupied by gunmen who were forced to leave last month in a national campaign directed by the province governor to eliminate indiscriminate construction and evacuate different institutions from any armed presence.
However, to its surprise, Yemen’s Journalists Syndicate has been recently informed that its HQ has been seized again by militants by order of Aden’s deputy governor and the director of Tawahi Directorate.
