WJWC condemns Emirati security official’s threat to journalist Muhammad Abdul Malik
The Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) condemns the threat of Dhahi Khalfan, the former Dubai police chief, to journalist Muhammad Abdul Malik by sharing - on his Twitter account - posts including his name and photo and demands for more information about him.
While expressing its absolute and definite solidarity with the journalist, the WJWC deplores the incitement and threats indicated in Khalfan’s posts on his Twitter page, and also places full responsibility on him for any risk or harm to the journalist's life.
In this context, the WJWC calls on all human rights organizations and advocates for freedom of opinion and expression to condemn this threat and express solidarity with the journalist Muhammad Abdul-Malik against what he might be exposed to as a consequence of the incitement on social media by the Emirati security official.
