Ar Despite his deteriorating health, Houthi militia refuses to transfer journalist Imran to hospital
Houthi militia and ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh have refused to transfer journalist Abdul Khaliq Imran to hospital after having a spinal injury due to exposure to torture in prison since over a year.
Abdel Kareem Imran, the abductee’s brother, said his brother is suffering from back pains caused by Houthi torture and due to poor prison conditions.
"The idea to take him to hospital for treatment has been encountered with rejection of the political security prison administration", the brother added, holding the Houthi militia fully responsible for his detained brother’s safety and life.
He has sent urgent appeals to local and international human rights organizations, lawyers and journalists to take action for the release of Abdul Khaliq Imran and his fellow abductees.
About 20 militiamen of Houthis and ousted president kidnapped Abdul Khaliq Imran, 32, along with eight other journalists working for various opposition media outlets on June 9, 2015 while they were using a room in the Qasr Al Ahlam Hotel in Sanaa as an office.
