Photojournalist Awab Al Zubairi on Friday was killed in an explosion of booby-trapped building in one of the eastern neighborhoods of the city of Taiz.
The photojournalist, working for Taiz News Networks, accompanied by members of the national army and a number of colleagues, entered on Friday afternoon a residential building booby trapped by militiamen of Houthis and ousted president Saleh in the military hospital district, east Taiz, when the building was blasted, leaving many killed and wounded, including Al Zubairi, eyewitnesses said.
Many civilians, including children and women, have been victims of landmines and booby trap bombs the Houthi militia and ousted president’s men planted in ways and buildings in different part of the city.
Women Journalists Without Chains monitored 140 cases of violation against journalists and media workers during the first half of the year 2016, including six deaths.
