Houthi militia has abducted a journalist’s father after breaking into his home in the coastal province of Hodeidah, west of the country.
The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate said in a statement on Tuesday that it has received a report from journalist Ahmed Abdulrahman al-Na'mi, a correspondent of Rushd TV, saying that armed elements of the Houthi militia stormed his home in Hodeidah and kidnapped his elderly father on the basis of his journalistic work and opinions.
The affiliate of the International Federation of Journalists has condemned the incident, demanding the immediate release of Nami's father and to desist from chasing and harassing journalists, and blamed the Houthi group for any possible harm or danger to al-Na'mi's father.
